Background With a degree in Computer Science and Music, Dan left an established career in Washington, DC in 1993 to move to the west coast and attend Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
While pursuing his Masters degree in Motion Pictures, Dan interned at George Lucas' visual effects company, Industrial Light + Magic (ILM). Shortly thereafter, Dan moved to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for cinematography and work with leading professionals in the industry.

He is proficient with both Panasonic's and Sony's full line of camera gear and has a solid foundation for HD technology overall. Dan can also bring together reliable, professional crews.
Dan's Steadicam is a top-of-the-line film industry grade rig that includes wireless video transmission and wireless lens control. He can fly anything from smaller miniDV and HDV cameras to broadcast quality and HD video cameras to full featured motion picture film cameras.
Post production tools include current versions of Final Cut Pro for editing, DVD Studio Pro for DVD authoring, and additional tools for graphics, animation, and compression for web, CD, and DVD.

Other In his spare time, Dan surfs, plays hockey, produces and shoots his own independent movies, and travels overseas.

Recent Events
JULY 10
"Rubber" is a new show in production for Discovery Channel. Filming took place at ADI, a special FX creature shop responsible for characters on several major motion pictures and TV shows. Dan operated camera, Steadicam, and served as DP for the segment.
JULY 2
Dan worked electrical department on the Vietnam-themed feature, "21".
JUNE 24 - 25
Three Sony F900 HD cameras were used to shoot promotional material for Disney at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Dan worked as the DIT keeping cameras matched and running throughout the day handheld, on a crane, and on a Steadicam.
JUNE 19, 27, JULY 7 & 9
Dan shot EPK footage for "Labor Pains", a romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan.
JUNE 7
"Boiler Maker" is a feature film starring Jack McGee and John Savage. Dan served as 2nd Unit Director of Photography.
JUNE 5
Dan worked as a jib arm operator for EPK footage of popular rock band "James".
MAY 15
Bandito Brothers is a Hollywood-based production company that produced a commercial that will play in movie theaters in Dubai. Dan was hired as the Steadicam operator.
MAY 5 - 14
"Alphonso Bow" is a feature length movie shot in the style of the early 80's cult classic film, "My Dinner With Andre". Utilizing two of Panasonic's latest high end 1080P P2 HPX3000 cameras and an Arri 16mm film camera, Dan worked as Director of Photography for principal photography and Camera Operator for the film sequences which included time lapse photography.
MAY 1
AFI cinematography students were introduced to a day of hands-on training with Steadicam. Run by Bob Primes, ASC and long time Steadicam operator Paul Taylor, Dan served as an additional instructor.
APR 12
A Korean crew shot in Los Angeles for a high definition Samsung promotion. Dan was the DIT for the shoot, managing Sony's highest end digital cinematography camera, the F23.
APR 7
Dan assisted on a photo shoot for Redrock Micro by lighting the set and talent, setting the look of the shoot, and QC'ing the tech specs.
MAR 25 - APR 5
Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas hosted the 2008 Miss USA pageant. Dan served as DP and operator for special segments leading up to the live show.
MAR 24
Deviant Art was the subject of a "Cribs"-style pilot. Dan operated Steadicam.
MAR 18
Dan operated Steadicam on the short film "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Felicia Day.
MAR 5, 6, 12 - 14
Dan shot behind-the-scenes footage for a Bumble and Bumble hair product campaign.
FEB 28 - MAR 2
GM is promoting certified used cars. Dan operated one of multiple cameras on a series of hidden camera gags in the making of a commercial to advertise this segment of their business.
FEB 25
A new Las Vegas show (currently under non-disclosure) is in development. Dan was hired to operate Steadicam during rehearsals to serve a variety of purposes.
FEB 19 - 20
Dan served as DP and operator shooting content for an upcoming DVD for the Baby Einstein series and additional material for Disney.
FEB 5
The International Cinematographers Guild sponsored the Publicist Awards. Dan was one of the cameramen feeding the live audience projection screens.
2007
DEC 20 - JAN 9
Holidays are for travel. Dan took advantage by visiting countries #62 and #63 - Colombia and Ecuador.
DEC 19
A medieval themed kids cooking show was the setting for Dan to operate one of multiple cameras.
DEC 18
Dan operated Steadicam for a series of "Baby Einstein" segments.
DEC 11 & 13
Working with Red Door Films, Dan shot interviews of Sony and Gateway executives for Intel's upcoming keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
DEC 5 - 6
"Aussie and Ted" is a children's feature film. Dan operated Steadicam.
NOV 16
Dan operated Steadicam in an airplane interior for a Planned Parenthood PSA.
NOV 14
Time Warner is promoting their high speed internet service. Dan served as camera operator for a series of these commercial spots.
NOV 13
"The Red Canvas" is a feature film being shot on the new, much talked about RED digital cinematography camera. Dan filled in for a day as camera operator.
OCT 25 - 28
The California vaquero (cowboy) is a dying breed. The Essential Image Source Foundation (EISF) "wrangled" numerous vaqueros from all over the Western region and brought them together in Cuyama, CA to archive, document, and preserve their legacy. Dan was hired as one of multiple camera operators, and served as DP and Steadicam operator for particular segments.
OCT 6
Internationally recognized Willow Springs Raceway was the location for a TV pilot on drifting. Dan operated one of several cameras.
OCT 1 - 23
"Still Waiting...", starring John Michael Higgins, Alanna Ubach, and Phillip Vaden, is the sequel to the comedic feature, "Waiting". Dan was hired as camera and Steadicam operator.
SEP 19
Dan worked a double shift. In the afternoon he shot Joey Fatone for a video game based on the hit TV game show, "The Singing Bee". That evening he operated one of multiple cameras for a BBC special concert series featuring Emmylou Harris at The Brown Derby in Los Angeles.
