Dan worked as the DIT. OCT 27 & 28 Dan worked on a commercial for Nasonex, but it didn't help his allergies any. OCT 13 - 24 Stephen Dorff and Tom Berenger starred in an upcoming thriller. Dan worked as Camera Operator for this currently untitled feature film. OCT 15 Dan worked as Steadicam operator for "The Carrier", a short film starring Rita Wilson, Chad Michael Murray, and Anna Paquin. OCT 11 Using Canon's 5D Mark II, Dan was hired to photograph high end stills of a kitchen interior for a national competition. SEP 28 Dan assisted on a commercial shoot for Jewel-Osco, a Mexican grocery chain. AUG 18, 19 & 23 - SEP 18 7 cities in 30 days: Dan worked as DIT and Steadicam Operator with Sony's high end F35 digital cinema camera for a Best Western commercial that took the cast and crew all around the country. JUL 22 - AUG 12 "Prom" is a Disney movie about, what else? A high school prom. Dan worked as B-Camera/Steadicam Operator. JUL 18 Dan worked as Steadicam Operator on the feature film, "A Holiday Heist". JUL 9, 12 - 13 "Dog Park Superstars" is a competition-style game show featuring dogs and their owners. Dan worked as DIT for this multicamera Game Show Network show. JUN 15 - 17 Sony has a newly developed '3D Technology Center' on the Sony lot in Los Angeles. Dan spent three full days training on 3D theory, technology, and application. JUN 9 - 11 Dan traveled up to San Francisco to work as the Steadicam operator on a visual fx piece titled, "Task Force 318". Shooting took place at night on Angel Island. MAY 15 'Dawn 2010' is a Jewish cultural arts festival in San Francisco. Dan was hired as the still photographer for the event. MAY 12 P+S Technik has developed two different full sized 3D camera rigs. Dan tested the Freestyle Rig with two RED cameras for an upcoming feature. APR 28 Element Technica is finalizing work on their smallest 3D rig, the Neutron. With a pair of Silicon Imaging 2K cameras mounted in beam splitter mode, Dan put the rig on his Steadicam and shot test footage for an upcoming feature. APR 20 AOL's "Translogic" show explores new technology as it relates to transportation. Dan worked as Camera Operator in the studio for a number of episodes. APR 13 - 15 NAB, held in Las Vegas every year, is the largest broadcast and film convention. Dan attended to check out new products and research 3D production tools. MAR 29 - 30 Dan worked as Camera Operator and 2nd Unit DP on "Soul Fire Rising", a demonic web series. MAR 13 - 14 Sony's "Backwash" continued shooting including a host of celebrity cameos. Dan worked as Camera Operator to capture the comedy of Ken Marino, Dule Hill, David Wain, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jeff Ross, John Stamos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Steven Weber, and Allison Janney. MAR 7 - 9 Dan was hired by Everything Channel to videotape a number of presentations and interviews, including background extraction for compositing, for their Los Angeles conference. MAR 3 - 6 "Backwash" is a web series comedy that will air on Sony's Crackle.com later this year. Dan flew to Reno, NV to work as Camera Operator for filming the out of town location material. Ongoing... Element Technica is recognized as having one of the industry's top-of-the-line 3D camera rigs. Dan has been spending time working with the company, training as a rig tech and stereographer. FEB 19 'AOL Sessions' featured Mayer Hawthorne. Dan operated camera for this multi-cam studio shoot. FEB 8 - FEB 23 "5.4 A Love Story" is an upcoming horror feature film. Dan worked as Camera Operator and Steadicam Operator. JAN 27 & FEB 12 Dan worked as Steadicam Operator for the 35mm feature film, "Son of an Afghan Farmer". JAN 26 "The Hole" is a 3D movie directed by Joe Dante. Dan shot an interview of Nathan Gamble, one of the stars of the movie, for the film's electronic press kit (EPK). JAN 18 - FEB 2 "Lizzie" is a feature film executive produced and shot by Matt Mosher (mattmosher.com). Dan worked as Camera and Steadicam Operator for the project which features Gary Busey, Corbin Bernsen, Don Swayze, and Amanda Baker. JAN 16 - 17 sharemyguitar.com (SMG) is a new website dedicated to guitars and guitarists. Dan shot and edited footage for the site during NAMM, the largest musical instrument expo worldwide. JAN 7 The "Live Butterfly Garden" is a portable habitat for kids to raise butterflies from caterpillars. Dan worked as the DIT for a commercial shoot for the product using Canon's new 7D camera. 2009 DEC 20 Neil Melanson is the Jiu-Jitsu head coach at Randy Couture's 'Xtreme Couture' training facility in Las Vegas. Dan was one of three camera operators shooting footage with Neil for a series of training videos. DEC 12 - 14 Dan worked on a music video in San Francisco for The Mother Hips starring professional surfer Holly Beck. DEC 9 - 11 Libec is an internationally recognized provider of camera support equipment. Dan modeled as a cameraman in the Valley of Fire state park, Nevada with their current series of tripods. NOV 11 - 12 "Big Time Rush" is a new show from Nickelodeon. Dan worked as the Camera Operator and Steadicam Operator. OCT 27 - 28 Russell Brand performed two nights at the Masonic Lodge located at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. Dan captured both performances for a documentary featuring Russell and produced by Oliver Stone. OCT 25 - 26 "Fit To Be Tied" is a short film directed by Alex Feldman. Dan served as DP for the project. OCT 17 - 18 Dan filled in as Camera Operator for a couple days on the indie feature, "Dinner with Friends". SEP 23 & OCT 1 SAG hosted a corporate lecture series. Dan videotaped these events. SEP 12 - 16 Shooting for Red Zone Entertainment, Dan served as Camera and Steadicam Operator for a sizzle reel based on a new show idea featuring Thomas Schoos of Schoos Design. SEP 8 Dan worked with Redrock Micro on a marketing campaign for new products. AUG 18 Working with Famedia, Dan videotaped a series of interviews for the Bureau of Jewish Education. AUG 12 - 16 Dan served as DP of additional scenes for "Vanguard", a feature film starring Joe Estevez and Vernon Wells. AUG 8 "Rock the Bells" is a hip hop and rap festival that featured acts including Ice Cube, The Roots, Busta Rhymes, NAS and Damien Marley, and more. Dan worked as Camera Operator for this multi-camera event. JUL 24 - 28 Dan worked a second season as Camera Operator for FOX Reality's "Solitary 4.0". JUL 22 & 23, 25 - 27 Working with AgentCasts, Dan shot a number of real estate videos to promote the various properties. JUL 18 The Ron Eschete Trio gave an amazing performance in Monterey Park, CA. Dan worked as DP and Camera Operator for this multi camera shoot. JUL 14 Dan videotaped a SAG seminar discussing the history of contract negotiations. JUL 7 - 8 "Recycle Hear" is a public service campaign combining music with recycling. Dan worked as the RED camera tech for the campaign's marketing video. JUN 23 Dan flew to Las Vegas to operate Steadicam for a promo introducing "Pawn Store", a new show on the History Channel. JUN 14 FOX picked up the movie Dan shot in Sweden last Fall, "Midsummer Sex Comedy". The trailer can be viewed on the CLIPS page of this site as well as RIGHT HERE! JUN 1 - 13 The 2009 Miss Universe pageant will take place in the Bahamas this year. Dan flew there to shoot highlights of the country and its numerous islands with the current Miss Universe, Dyana Mendoza. Shooting included underwater work with sharks, manta rays, and even swimming pigs! MAY 26 - 30 Working with DP Matt Mosher, Dan worked on the feature "Shankill Road" as Camera/Steadicam Operator. MAY 14, 15, 18 The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has come to terms for a new contract. Videos encouraging a "YES" vote from the membership were produced, featuring celebrities such as Jason Priestly, Amy Brenneman, Adam Arkin, Amy Aquino, George DelHoyo, Bruce Davison, and Ed Begley Jr. Dan worked as the DP for this campaign. APR 18 "Confessions of a Refrigerator Mother" is a one-woman play written and performed by Carolyn Doyle. Dan produced the two-camera shoot and operated one of the cameras. APR 17, 20, 21 Easter Seals produced a video in order to raise awareness and money for people with disabilities. Dan was flown to San Francisco to work as DP and Camera Operator for the project. He also digitized the material on his Final Cut Pro edit system and is working on the rough cut. APR 1 - 14 It's Miss USA 2009! Dan worked as Camera Operator for the preliminary round recorded live and as Camera Operator and DP for the remote and promotional segments. MAR 4 - 6 Sony's F23 Digital Cinema HD camera was used on a Techno Crane from Panavision for Disney's upcoming movie, "G-Force". Shooting a music video and visual fx plates, Dan worked as DIT for the project. FEB 27 Band Pro Digital now supports the Silicon Imaging 2K (SI-2K) camera. Dan did a one-on-one training session to get up to speed with this new camera system. FEB 25 Dan worked in conjunction with Red Cam Studios to test the RED camera and put it through its paces for an upcoming promo shoot for Germany's version of "America's Next Top Model". FEB 21 In the morning Dan shot an interview for an upcoming documentary about video game champions. In the evening he participated in the Society of Camera Operators' (SOC) Lifetime Achievement Awards. FEB 17 Dan worked as live camera operator for the International Cinematographers Guild's 46th Annual Publicist Awards. FEB 12 A PSA was produced to celebrate the American Camp Association's 100 year anniversary. Dan was hired to operate Steadicam for this project. Celebrities in the PSA included Paul Adelstein from "Private Practice", Glynn Turman from "The Wire", and others. FEB 9 - 10 "The Cougar" is a new reality style game show hosted by Vivica Fox that will be aired on TV Land. Dan worked as the DIT for the show's promo. FEB 4 "The Way of War" is an upcoming feature starring Cuba Gooding Jr. Dan interviewed members of the movie for an EPK including director John Carter, actors J.K. Simmons and John Terry, and musicians who contributed tracks for the film. JAN 29 - FEB 3 Dan flew to Tampa, FL to document winners of a Super Bowl contest sponsored by Meet the Matts and Sports Matchmaker. His travels continued to Fort Lauderdale with Matt McCarthy of 'Meet the Matts' to capture material for their ongoing web series. JAN 25 "LA Lights" is this country's premier rhythmic gymnastics event. Dan shot the event focusing on medal winners from the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. JAN 24 The SAG Awards are held on the 25th this year. Dan worked the show one day early to capture behind the scenes footage of the preparation and to capture an interview with Lifetime Achievement Award winner James Earl Jones. JAN 20 BARACK OBAMA!!! Dan flew to Washington, DC where he took time off of work to freeze his a** off at the inauguration of our 44th president. 2008 DEC 30 Dan taped more SAG testimonials including Rob Schneider, Sally Kirkland, and Natalia Castellanos. DEC 22 SAG hired Dan as DP to record actors Elliott Gould and Harry Lennix reaching out to membership to vote 'yes' on a strike authorization. DEC 15 - 16 "Wild Oleander" is a German produced MOW (Movie of the Week). Production came to Los Angeles for two days of filming and hired Dan as Steadicam operator. DEC 8 - 9 SAG is asking members to authorize a strike. Dan videotaped a number of SAG representatives for this campaign. DEC 7 Dan shot a webisode for a series that takes place on an elevator. These shows will be netcast on an Adobe sponsored website. DEC 4 The Alcoholism Center for Women in Los Angeles celebrated an open house. Dan was there to document the event. DEC 3 Dwayne Richard is recognized as one of the world's leading champions of classic video arcade games. Dan shot an interview of Dwayne for an upcoming documentary on masters of these coin operated game systems. NOV 21 Dan shot construction safety training footage for Crucible Safety Media. NOV 12 - 16 Working with Bay Area based Plush Studios, Dan traveled to Tahiti for a model and resort high definition video shoot. Most of the footage is being produced for Getty Images. NOV 10 The city of San Clemente, CA celebrated completion of the largest man made reef in the country. Dan operated one of multiple video cameras for live coverage displayed both on event monitors as well as streaming over the internet. OCT 30 Renato "Babalu" Sobral is a professional Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Dan shot "a day in the life of Babalu" for NBC. OCT 22 - 28 University of CA Irvine has built a new state-of-the-art hospital. Dan documented the completion of the building. OCT 18 Dan shot a direct marketing campaign for Zero Water, a water filter that competes with bottled water and other filters to eliminate all contaminants from drinking water. SEP 2 - 30 "Midsommerfest" ("Midsummer Swedish Comedy") is a tragic comedy feature film that takes place in Sweden. It stars Luke Perry of '90210' fame and A-list Swedish actors including Olle Sarri, Lisa Werlinder, and Daniel Gustavsson. The movie was shot on the new RED One camera with Dan serving as Director of Photography, Steadicam Operator, and Camera Operator. AUG 15 - 23 'Solitary' is a Fox network elimination-style reality show competition in its third season. Dan worked as one of the camera operators. AUG 8 Justin Chatwin had a starring role in the feature "Middle of Nowhere". Dan shot his interview for an electronic press kit (EPK). JULY 15 - AUG 4 Dan traveled to Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua where he toured the region, got his Advanced Open Water certification, and took several photographs, some of which can be seen at www.dancoplan.com/photo. Click on 'Central America' and 'Panoramic' (last 3 photos). JULY 10 "Rubber" is a new show in production for Discovery Channel. Filming took place at ADI, a special FX creature shop responsible for characters on several major motion pictures and TV shows. Dan operated camera, Steadicam, and served as DP for the segment. JULY 2 Dan worked electrical department on the Vietnam-themed feature, "21". JUNE 24 - 25 Three Sony F900 HD cameras were used to shoot promotional material for Disney at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Dan worked as the DIT keeping cameras matched and running throughout the day handheld, on a crane, and on a Steadicam. JUNE 19, 27, JULY 7 & 9 Dan shot EPK footage for "Labor Pains", a romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan. JUNE 7 "Boiler Maker" is a feature film starring Jack McGee and John Savage. Dan served as 2nd Unit Director of Photography. JUNE 5 Dan worked as a jib arm operator for EPK footage of popular rock band "James". MAY 15 Bandito Brothers is a Hollywood-based production company that produced a commercial that will play in movie theaters in Dubai. Dan was hired as the Steadicam operator. MAY 5 - 14 "Alphonso Bow" is a feature length movie shot in the style of the early 80's cult classic film, "My Dinner With Andre". Utilizing two of Panasonic's latest high end 1080P P2 HPX3000 cameras and an Arri 16mm film camera, Dan worked as Director of Photography for principal photography and Camera Operator for the film sequences which included time lapse photography. MAY 1 AFI cinematography students were introduced to a day of hands-on training with Steadicam. Run by Bob Primes, ASC and long time Steadicam operator Paul Taylor, Dan served as an additional instructor. APR 12 A Korean crew shot in Los Angeles for a high definition Samsung promotion. Dan was the DIT for the shoot, managing Sony's highest end digital cinematography camera, the F23. APR 7 Dan assisted on a photo shoot for Redrock Micro by lighting the set and talent, setting the look of the shoot, and QC'ing the tech specs. MAR 25 - APR 5 Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas hosted the 2008 Miss USA pageant. Dan served as DP and operator for special segments leading up to the live show. MAR 24 Deviant Art was the subject of a "Cribs"-style pilot. Dan operated Steadicam. MAR 18 Dan operated Steadicam on the short film "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Felicia Day. MAR 5, 6, 12 - 14 Dan shot behind-the-scenes footage for a Bumble and Bumble hair product campaign. FEB 28 - MAR 2 GM is promoting certified used cars. Dan operated one of multiple cameras on a series of hidden camera gags in the making of a commercial to advertise this segment of their business. FEB 25 A new Las Vegas show (currently under non-disclosure) is in development. Dan was hired to operate Steadicam during rehearsals to serve a variety of purposes. FEB 19 - 20 Dan served as DP and operator shooting content for an upcoming DVD for the Baby Einstein series and additional material for Disney. FEB 5 The International Cinematographers Guild sponsored the Publicist Awards. Dan was one of the cameramen feeding the live audience projection screens. 2007 DEC 20 - JAN 9 Holidays are for travel. Dan took advantage by visiting countries #62 and #63 - Colombia and Ecuador. DEC 19 A medieval themed kids cooking show was the setting for Dan to operate one of multiple cameras. DEC 18 Dan operated Steadicam for a series of "Baby Einstein" segments. DEC 11 & 13 Working with Red Door Films, Dan shot interviews of Sony and Gateway executives for Intel's upcoming keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). DEC 5 - 6 "Aussie and Ted" is a children's feature film. Dan operated Steadicam. NOV 16 Dan operated Steadicam in an airplane interior for a Planned Parenthood PSA. NOV 14 Time Warner is promoting their high speed internet service. Dan served as camera operator for a series of these commercial spots. NOV 13 "The Red Canvas" is a feature film being shot on the new, much talked about RED digital cinematography camera. Dan filled in for a day as camera operator. OCT 25 - 28 The California vaquero (cowboy) is a dying breed. The Essential Image Source Foundation (EISF) "wrangled" numerous vaqueros from all over the Western region and brought them together in Cuyama, CA to archive, document, and preserve their legacy. Dan was hired as one of multiple camera operators, and served as DP and Steadicam operator for particular segments. OCT 6 Internationally recognized Willow Springs Raceway was the location for a TV pilot on drifting. Dan operated one of several cameras. OCT 1 - 23 "Still Waiting...", starring John Michael Higgins, Alanna Ubach, and Phillip Vaden, is the sequel to the comedic feature, "Waiting". Dan was hired as camera and Steadicam operator. SEP 19 Dan worked a double shift. In the afternoon he shot Joey Fatone for a video game based on the hit TV game show, "The Singing Bee". That evening he operated one of multiple cameras for a BBC special concert series featuring Emmylou Harris at The Brown Derby in Los Angeles. AUG 23 - SEP 8 Dan went on an Eastern European adventure covering Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, and Bosnia & Hercegovina. This trip marked "over 60 countries visited". AUG 22 "Project Roswell" is a production underway utilizing the latest in camera technology. Dan was brought on to prepare a package including Sony's latest full resolution uncompressed HD F23 camera. AUG 13 & 16 Production came to Los Angeles for a documentary on Vidal Sassoon. Dan was hired as Steadicam and camera operator. AUG 5 - 9 "From Within" is a supernatural thriller directed by Phedon Papamichael, ASC who lensed largely successful films such as, "Walk The Line", "Sideways", and "The Pursuit of Happyness", to name a few. Dan came to the picture in the last week of production to operate camera and Steadicam. AUG 1 Neoflam is a company that manufactures kitchen products like cutting boards and vacuum packed storage bins. Dan shot an informercial for some of these products which will be advertised in stores like Bed Bath & Beyond. JUL 22 Dan completed PADI certification for open water SCUBA. Coupled with Hydroflex cinematography training last year, Dan hopes to get work shooting underwater. JUL 16 - AUG 3 "Primal Doubt" is a psychological thriller starring Janine Turner, Costas Mandylor, Maeve Quinland, and Freda Foh Shen. Dan is working as camera operator, Steadicam, and 2nd Unit DP. JUL 9-13 Dan traveled for the final week of production in Fort Bragg, Northern California for "Shark Swarm", a mini-series starring Daryl Hannah, John Schneider, and Armand Assante. Dan worked as camera and Steadicam operator. JUN 29 Dan served as 2nd Unit DP capturing Los Angeles footage for a feature out of New Zealand titled, "Jinx Sister". JUN 21 Dan was DP on an advertising campaign for Elite Hair Extensions. The footage will be used in kiosks to attract customers. JUN 19 3DVSystems is a company with groundbreaking 3D space recognition technology. Dan, as cinematographer, filmed materials for their online and presentation marketing. JUN 3-14 "Yonkers Joe" is a film starring Chazz Palminteri and featuring other well known actors including Michael Lerner and Linus Roache. Dan operated camera, Steadicam, and served as 2nd unit director of photography. MAY 2-15 The Miss Universe pageant is in Mexico this year. Dan operated camera and Steadicam for tourism and intro packages featuring contestants from all over the globe in destinations throughout the country. APR 25 Dan shot handheld on stage at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood for "Divas of Disco" featuring Thelma Houston, France Joli, Linda Crawford, Ce Ce Peniston, and A Taste of Honey. APR 22 Make It Happen Productions hired Dan as the DP for a series of vignettes featuring taxi cab drivers from around the world. Dan shot the segments for Los Angeles and New York, using areas of Los Angeles and different camera settings to look like New York as well as LA. APR 18-19 Shooting for Crucible Safety, Dan worked on a training video for construction site safety. APR 14-16 "Get She Water" is a short film that is part of a full feature. Dan was the cinematographer. APR 13 Dan shot Steadicam and interviews for NBC's Championship Off Road Racing (CORR). APR 4 Today was the final day on FOX pilot, "Family of the Year", which Dan came in for to operate Steadicam. APR 2 Dan operated camera on upcoming feature, "Winged Creatures", starring Forrest Whitaker, Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, and Jennifer Hudson. MAR 27 Working with legendary ASC cinematographer Stephen Burum, Dan put the Dalsa Origin digital cinema camera on his Steadicam to both test the camera and provide marketing materials for Dalsa. MAR 26 FOX is shooting "Family Of The Year", a pilot starring Robert Vaughn, Alan Ruck, and Jennifer Coolidge. Dan operated Steadicam. MAR 21 Dan strapped Dalsa's 4K Origin digital cinema camera on to his Steadicam for testing purposes. This is the first time Dalsa Origin Steadicam footage was shot. MAR 18 The International Cinematographers Guild held craft meetings for various camera specialties. Dan helped shoot the event. MAR 15-16 Shooting for Crucible Safety, Dan worked on a high end safety training video at a Temecula construction site. MAR 14 Dan operated Steadicam for FOX's hit TV show, "House" starring Hugh Laurie. MAR 10-11 The International Cinematographers Guild hosted a seminar featuring the highest end HD digital cinema cameras: Viper, Panavision Genesis, Dalsa Origin, and Sony 1500. Dan was brought in to record the event. FEB 18-19 Internationally recognized British artist Damien Hirst is having an opening of his "Superstition" exhibit at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. Prior to the event, Dan shot Steadicam for a feature length documentary about Damien and his work. FEB 16 Working for Larry Schutte's Spectrum Sight & Sound production company, Dan captured footage for an upcoming TV news story featuring Price Waterhouse Coopers. FEB 9 Dan operated Steadicam on a CAPA Productions project for DaVita corporate marketing. FEB 7 The 44th International Cinematographers Guild Publicist Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton. Dan operated one of two live cameras for the event. FEB 5 Working with Matchframe Video and Hippie Boy Productions, Dan shot elements for a short film that will premiere at the DGA later this month. FEB 2 Chula Vista is home to a new race track for CORR (Championship Off Road Racing). Dan shot standups with Kelly Stavast of Speed Channel to introduce the track to viewers. JAN 17 - FEB 1 Recycling is the name of the game as Dan traveled to South Carolina, Minnesota, Missouri, and California filming and interviewing various operations that recycle waste. The footage, shot in HD, is for History Channel's "Boneyard". JAN 8-9, 16 Disney is starting a new TV station. Working with Random Pictures, Dan shot HD footage for the network. JAN 7 Randy Moore is a New York City based artist specializing in video installations. Dan helped Randy film subjects for his current project and upcoming exhibition. JAN 4 - early February Dan continued work as camera and Steadicam operator for Hallmark Channel's "Final Approach" featuring Lea Thompson, Anthony Michael Hall, and Richard Roundtree. 2006 DEC 19 "Desperate for Steadicam". Dan operated camera and Steadicam for ABC's hit show, "Desperate Housewives". DEC 12-13 Dan shot HD footage at TST, Inc., an aluminum foundry in Fontana, CA, for The History Channel's, "Boneyard". OCT 25 - NOV 19 Dan served as A-camera operator/Steadicam for a Universal Pictures feature: R.L. Stine's Haunting Hours Volume 1. OCT 16 Dan was hired as Steadicam operator on the FOX hit show, "House", starring Hugh Laurie. OCT 12-13 Dan shot a pilot for a cooking show featuring Inna. Dan helped edit the material and author it to DVD. OCT 8 Working with the Society of Camera Operators (SOC), Dan organized a Steadicam panel discussion at Panavision featuring top film and TV Steadicam operators: Craig Fikse, Charles Papert, Chris Haarhoff, Kenji Luster, Jeff Mart, Randy Nolen, Paul Taylor, Peter Rosenfeld, Gerry O'Malley, Bill Webb, and Henry Tirl. OCT 4 Dan shot B-camera footage on CBS drama "Ghost Whisperer" starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. OCT 3 Working with hostess Kelly Stavis for Speed Channel and CORR, Dan shot on location with Panasonic's new HDX-900 HD camera at Wide Open (Monster Energy Drinks). OCT 2 The Frag Girls promoted the latest version of the Rainbow Six videogame. Dan was on location at a Los Angeles firing range to "shoot" the promotion. SEP 25-27 Shooting for a new A&E show on teen musical celebrities, Dan followed former New Kids On The Block superstar Jordan Knight as he visited studios, worked on new music, and gave interviews in Orlando, FL. SEP 23-24 CORR - Championship Off Road Racing for the Speed Channel. Dan shot segments for an edited program as well as providing live coverage for the Jumbotron. SEP 16-17 Hydroflex and the Society of Camera Operators (SOC) sponsored an underwater workshop. Dan participated in full SCUBA gear with greenscreen, lights, 35mm cameras, and several underwater housings. SEP 4-6 Dan was at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to witness the breaking of the land speed record on a 2-wheeled vehicle: 355 MPH. His work, however, was serving as DIT for BMW in the featuring of their K1200 motorcycle. AUG 25 Working with Sony and ASC DP Peter Anderson at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Dan tested three new HD cameras: Panasonic HDX-900, Sony XDCAM HD, and Sony F900R. AUG 25 Dan shot interviews for A&E. Guests included Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child and Vincent Herbert, president of Da Family Entertainment who has produced acts such as Destiny's Child, Toni Braxton, and JoJo. AUG 23 Shooting for The History Channel's "Boneyard", Dan filmed the stripping and crushing of cars at Ecology Auto Parts. JUL 26-AUG 17 A much needed vacation found Dan in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovakia. This marks 55 countries visited for the globe trotter. JUL 16-21 What happens to cars when they end their lives? That's what Dan went to find out shooting HD for The History Channel's "Boneyard" in DC and Chicago. JUL 5-14 Dan spent over a week with some of the world's most beautiful women preparing material for NBC's upcoming Miss Universe pageant. Dan captured footage traditionally and on Steadicam. JUL 1 CRASH! BAM! SMASH! Shooting for The History Channel's "Boneyard", Dan captured all the destruction of a demolition derby. JUN 29 "Islander", the feature that Dan shot as cinematographer last Summer, got great reviews in The Boston Herald, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and Now Playing magazine. JUN 27 "Triloquist" is the first in a series of new horror films written and directed by Mark Jones who is responsible for the "Leprechaun" series. Dan operated Steadicam on this movie. JUN 23 Dan participated in a workshop sponsored by the International Cinematographers Guild featuring the Viper, an uncompressed high resolution HD camera. JUN 16-21 Buffalo Air operates ancient DC-3 and DC-4 airplanes which service the far northern reaches of Canada's Northwest Territories. Directing, producing, and shooting for The History Channel's "Boneyard", Dan captured footage on ground and in flight. Oh, and he got to sit in the pilot's seat and fly a DC-4! How cool is that?! JUN 14 Dan shot in the middle of the California desert for a story about a woman turning an old 747 into her new home. The segment is for The History Channel's, "Boneyard". JUN 12-13 Working on the Sony lot, Dan operated Steadicam for Toby Keith and a short film that will play at his concerts before he comes on stage. JUN 8-10 Shooting for The History Channel's "Boneyard", Dan toured and filmed the world's largest border crossing at the USA/Mexico line. JUN 6 The Henry Ford Theater in Hollywood featured satanic celebration, live music, and what else? A wedding! Dan was on hand to film the evil. JUN 3 Top Hollywood DP's Shelly Johnson, Daniel Pearl, Russell Carpenter, and Wally Pfister instructed a lighting workshop for the International Cinematographer's Guild. Dan was on hand to capture the event on camera. MAY 31 Dan was on site in San Bernardino, CA filming a demonstration of Evergreen Aviation International's new Supertanker, a Boeing 747 that can hold more than 20,000 gallons of water for fighting fires and other aerial operations. MAY 29 Working with NY artist Randy Moore, Dan shot singing telegram character sketches for an upcoming installation. MAY 20-21 PRO GPI, manufacturer of one of the film industry's top of the line Steadicam rigs, hosted a limited participant workshop led by Steadicam heavy hitters Chris Haarhoff, Greg Lundsgaard, and Jacques Jouffret. Dan took part in the event. MAY 13-19 Bozeman, Montana was home to "Lynx", a 35mm film sponsored by Panavision and Kodak on which Dan served as 2nd unit DP, Steadicam, and B-camera operator. MAY 10-12 Dan took a few days off to join in on a Super 16 film workshop sponsored by The International Cinematographer's Guild. MAY 8 Working with the DGA, Dan shot an interview with long time big budget film producer, Rob Relyea. MAY 5-6 The International Cinematographer's Guild held their National Membership meeting. Dan spent one day prepping and one day shooting this 3-camera event. MAY 2-4 Mazda hosted a large "live feed" event in San Diego. Dan flew down to operate camera handheld and on pedestals in a studio setting. MAY 1 Working with Hi-Tech Video and Perpetual Motion Films, Dan worked on a spot for the CORR racing series. APR 25-26 NAB presented the latest production and post gear during their annual convention. Working with Digital Cinema Society founder, Jim Mathers, Dan toured the various vendors and captured footage for streaming video content including Sony, Panasonic, HP, Canon, Grass Valley, and more. APR 15 Dan did double duty. The first half of the day was spent working on recreations for a History Channel special about the Ottoman Empire. The second half of the day involved Steadicam for the short film, "Let's Play". APR 9 Shooting Super 16, Dan operated Steadicam for the short film, "Sunny Day". APR 7 Dan hooked up with Larry Schutte of Spectrum Sight & Sound to shoot promotional footage for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. MAR 30 Dodge just released the Caliber - a fun car aimed at the younger generation. Dan, as DP, worked on an ad campaign highlighting the car's features. MAR 23 Discovery Channel shot a comical Sci-Fi promo. Dan was the HD DIT on set. MAR 22 Shooting in downtown LA on a process trailer, Dan filmed the president's limo and lead characters for NBC's "West Wing". MAR 16-21 Dan served as director of photography for Alex Feldman's short film, "Sent". The camera used was a DVX-100 outfitted with Redrock Micro's M2 lens adapter and a set of Nikon 35mm prime lenses. MAR 14 It was Two-fer Tuesday for Dan as he spent the first part of the day at the Director's Guild of America interviewing long time director, Garry Marshall, before heading over to the WB lot to operate on NBC's West Wing. MAR 6-9 ZOMBIES! GUNS! BLOOD! Dan operated camera and Steadicam for "Plane Dead", a feature film that takes place on an airplane full of the undead. MAR 5 Dan operated Steadicam and B-camera on music video, "Weary", for international artist R&B singer, Emel. MAR 1 The Beverly Hilton hosted the annual Publicist Awards. Dan operated one of the live feed cameras. Celebrities included Kurt Douglas, Teri Hatcher, Jimmy Kimmel, and others. FEB 27 Dan shot a press junket for A&E for the upcoming film, "The Da Vinci Code". Celebrity interviews included Alfred Molina and Paul Bettany. FEB 23-24 2nd unit filming began for "Poor Edward", a short film by Alex Feldman. Dan, as DP, shot the material with a DVX-100A outfitted with Red Rock Micro's M2 lens adapter and a series of Nikon prime lenses. FEB 15 NEXT Motorsports customizes high end vehicles for the rich and famous. Working for G-Net, Dan shot segments for an upcoming show. FEB 12 "Sinatra: Dark Star", the BBC/A&E documentary that Dan shot two Summers ago, was nominated for the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA). FEB 11 Dan shot a commercial spot for Spike TV and the UFC featuring Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. The champs and their army of fighters were recorded in HD against green screen for compositing and special fx. JAN 25 Stone Brewing Company in Escondido, CA hosted an HD pilot called, "Beer Nuts", a travel show focusing on breweries. Dan was the DP and camera operator. JAN 16 Armed with a Super 16mm film camera, 16mm POV "bullet camera", and Sony's HDV camera, Dan went out to the Nevada desert with Hi-Tech Video to film beauty shots of trophy trucks doing jumps and tearing through the "whoops". JAN 14 Dan worked his Steadicam for the Super 16mm short, "The Present". JAN 12 "Bull Run" is an independent feature being shot on two Panasonic Varicams. Dan came to production as DIT to make sure that everything was in order for this HD project. JAN 11 Dan served as DIT for an HD commercial shoot for the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). 2005 DEC 25-JAN 6 Dan escaped to the Caribbean and visited countries #50 and #51. What does this have to do with work? Absolutely nothing! DEC 13-21 Fabtech is a manufacturer of lift kits for trucks and Jeeps. Dan filmed step-by-step the procedures required to train mechanics to install a new kit for a particular brand of Jeep. DEC 6 Universal Studios is updating their tour video for visitors using Whoopie Goldberg as the hostess. Dan served as camera operator. NOV 28 The tragic death of Jason Baldwin shook the off-road racing world. Dan was called in to edit the memorial video for family and friends. NOV 17-19 Dan traveled to Mexico with a production team for the Baja 1000. Using helmet cams, vehicle mounts, and ground units he produced and shot a documentary for the Helm Racing Team on their 1000 Km race to the finish. NOV 13 The finals of LTN's "Ballin'" took place in Venice Beach. Dan ran the court with his Steadicam covering the action. NOV 11 "Syriana" is a new movie based on the crisis in the Middle East. Dan shot interviews of director Stephen Gaghan and the man that George Clooney's character is based on, Robert Baer. OCT 31 - NOV 1 The William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills prepared a video for internal marketing and Dan filmed interviews and the inner workings of the agency. OCT 30 "The Valley" was host to a round of LTN Network's street basketball show, "Ballin'". Dan worked Steadicam up and down the court with the players. OCT 20 TrendMicro sponsored a large corporate team building party. Dan was there to cover the action. OCT 19 Dan documented an event by Panda Express for their annual "Give Back to Kids" celebration. OCT 12 Fat Joe, House of Blues, Disneyland. Dan ran the camera department as DIT for this 5 camera HD shoot. OCT 10 Mike Jones at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. Dan ran the camera department as DIT for this 5 camera HD shoot. OCT 8 It was round 2 for Dan and his Glidecam rig as he ran on the court with street ballers for LTN's new reality competition to find the best street ball team in Los Angeles. OCT 4 Dan was shooting on location at the Westwood Arcade for the G-Net network doing a show about video games. SEP 25 "Ballin" is the name of a new street basketball show on the LTN network in Los Angeles. Dan shot Glidecam footage on court with the players as they competed for top prize. SEP 21-22 Dan served as DIT and camera support for several Hamer Toyota commercial spots. SEP 8 Malibu, CA became the icy Arctic for a Kia car commercial for which Dan served as DIT. The beach was covered in snow and ice and real live penguins served as co-stars. It was 85 degrees out. AUG 25 Dan was accepted into the Society of Operating Cameramen and can now put 3 cool little letters after his name: Dan Coplan, SOC. AUG 3 - 24 Dan toured Eastern Europe (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia) to mark 49 countries traveled thus far. Highlights included horseback riding in Bulgarian mountains and bungee jumping in Hungary. Low point was getting robbed in the back of a locked taxi by an oversized Romanian "private taxi" driver in Bucharest, though it's a great story to tell. JUL 23 "The Gym" is a new reality show on Discovery's FitTV. Dan shot a series of moving action shots with his Glidecam camera rig. JUL 20 - 22 Braeburn Country Club in Tarzana, CA hosted the Singha Tennis Classic featuring future top players in the world competing for rankings. Dan served as DIT for this multi camera HD production which will broadcast on The Tennis Channel. JUL 19 Dan taped a number of car to car beauty shots of Fabtech's custom rigged trucks. He used Sony's new HDV Z1 camcorder. JUL 15 - 17 Dan "flew" an Arri 3 film camera on his Glidecam rig for spec ads featuring Converse sneakers and The Hollywood Reporter magazine. JUL 12 - 14 Fabtech is an industry leader in custom suspension modifications for trucks. Dan shot a training video showing how to install a lift kit into a truck. JUL 5 "Jeremy Cohen and Friends Celebrate Joe Venuti 100 Years", directed by Lauren Speeth, shot by Mark Arellano of Funky Tiki, and edited by Dan, will have its world premiere at the Globians Film Festival in Potsdam, Germany this month. JUL 1 Barstow was the setting for beauty shots and high flying jumps as a Fabtech sponsored trophy truck took to the desert. Dan captured it all in HD. MAY 16 - JUN 22 Dan completed principal photography on "Sternman", an HD feature starring Philip Baker Hall, Amy Jo Johnson, Mark Kiely, Judy Prescott, Larry Pine, Jimmy Parks, and Tom Hildreth. MAY 3 - 10 Ford is marketing the new Fusion and upgraded F-150. Dan spent a week as HD DIT and AC for this Varicam marketing campaign. APR 12 Dan shot interviews of the team leaders at high end game company, Insomniac, for G-Net and AOL. APR 11 What do a piranha, a tree frog, and a bald eagle have in common? They're all elements that were filmed against blue screen for an upcoming Nike spot. Dan served as HD DIT and AC. APR 8 "Kingdom of Heaven" is a new blockbuster coming out this Summer. Dan shot interviews with director Ridley Scott, and actors Orlando Bloom and Eva Green for press material. MAR 28 - APR 1 Flying from Las Vegas to Reno for A&E's "Airline", Dan followed world poker champion Robert Williamson III as he competed in a Texas Hold 'Em tournament. MAR 22 Shooting for The History Channel, Dan served as DP for the recreation of flight 007, a Korean airline shot down by the Russians in 1983. MAR 21 San Diego was the location for the christening of "Jean Anne", a transport ship for new motor vehicles crossing the Pacific. Dan was on hand to capture the event for The Pasha Group, the ship's host company. MAR 19 - 20 The International Cinematographer's Guild held a lighting workshop featuring the industry's top Directors of Photography including Stephen Lighthill, Bill Klages, Allen Daviau, Dean Cundy, Wally Pfister, Bob Primes, John Schwartzmann, Bill Pope, Steve Burum, and others. Dan shot the event and will be helping the guild create a Heritage Series DVD for others to share. MAR 15 - 17 Flying to Seattle and Las Vegas, Dan shot a segment for A&E's, "Airline". MAR 14 Shooting for AOL and promoting Sony's new P2P portable game system, Dan had R&B star Maya in the spotlight for an interview. MAR 12 "Open Call" is a new reality show for the TV Guide Channel. Dan was in studio running one of the multiple cameras for this wacky search for new talent. MAR 10 A special makeup test for Brad Pitt was done for the upcoming feature, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". Dan served as DIT for this producers' preview on HD. FEB 18 Dan worked the beginning of a broadcast series for the Do It Yourself Network on the making of crafts for the home. FEB 9 - 11 "Stood Up" is the name of a short New York Film Academy movie that Dan worked on as DP and Steadicam operator. The movie will screen later in the month at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. FEB 6 Dan worked one of 3 cameras for a live edit broadcast presentation in downtown LA. FEB 3 The first day of principal photography started on "Bam Bam and Celeste", an HD feature starring Margaret Cho. Dan served as DIT. FEB 2 Working with Zentropy Partners, Dan shot footage showcasing a new product from Avery to be webcast on the internet and corporate intranet. JAN 31 Pacificare produces an annual video for corporate marketing. Dan teched and operated one of the two cameras. Panasonic SDX-900 DVCPRO 50 cameras were outfitted with Pro35 adapters and long cine style Cooke zoom lenses for a rich, film-like look. JAN 15 Nickelodeon Studios was the location for Spike TV commercial spots promoting the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Dan worked the camera on Shaq, Willa Ford, and ultimate fighters Dana White, Randy Caiture, and Chuck Liddell. JAN 7 - 11 Dan wrapped up principal photography as DP with re-enactments for a feature length documentary to air on BBC and A&E this Spring. Shooting included use of a cutting edge HD slow motion camera called the Cine SpeedCam. Many scenes were shot at speeds up to 1,000 frames per second. 2004 DEC 15 The Sidekick II is a new high tech cell phone from T-Mobile. Working with Think©reative and Make It Happen Productions, Dan shot footage for interstitials and commercial spots for FX Networks. DEC 13 Dan experimented with super slow motion in HD, courtesy of Band Pro in Burbank, CA. Footage was captured with the Cine SpeedCam recording as fast as 10,000fps. OCT 2 - NOV 4 LA, Vegas, Reno, Carson City, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs...principal photography continues shooting for the BBC and A&E for a feature length documentary which will broadcast this Spring. AUG 10 - SEP 16 Traveling nationwide and internationally, Dan continued filming for a feature-length BBC documentary. Shooting HD with the Panasonic Varicam, Dan and director Chris Olgiati made the most of the camera's technology experimenting with variable shutters, frame rates, interval capture, and color correction to give each scene a unique look and feel. JUL 24 Serving as camera operator and jib operator, Dan worked a two-camera shoot for an edgy exercise video. JUL 20-22 Dan shot more interviews for a BBC documentary in HD with a Varicam running at 25fps for European broadcast. JUL 17 Shooting continued for an educational DVD focusing on the career of firefighting at one of the very few Class 1 firehouses in the world, the Culver City Fire Department. JUL 14-16 Dan completed 3 days of intensive DIT training at Panavision sponsored by the International Cinematographer's Guild. JUL 11-13 Jet setting from LA to the San Francisco Bay Area to Dallas and back to LA, Dan went corporate for a shoot for Ameriquest Mortgage. Good thing the PT Cruiser from the weekend's shoot had turbo installed as Dan raced from Monterey early in the morning to make his flight back up to the Bay Area that afternoon. JUL 9-11 Dan hit the "Fast Lane with Steve Natt" for segments on the annual Laguna Seca superbike championships in Monterey, CA, a new sport touring motorcycle from Kawasaki, and a new convertible turbo PT Cruiser. Shots included mounting a lipstick cam to the side of the PT Cruiser for rolling footage of the Kawasaki while driving up the coast on Route 1, and catching all the high speed Laguna Seca action track side and in pit row. Not a bad way to spend a weekend. JUL 2 Conversion vans were the topic of the day as Dan and TV host Steve Natt hit the road for "Fast Lane". JUN 29 Shooting for Disney, Dan captured footage for a DVD release video including titles like "Cold Mountain" and "Spiderman". JUN 25 - 27 Dan operated, assisted, and flew an Arri 435 on a Glidecam for a 35mm short film titled, "Ambassadors of a Tortured Soul." JUN 17 - 19 Armed with Panasonic's HD Varicam camera as Director of Photography, Dan initiated shooting on a feature length documentary for the BBC and A&E. The format will be widescreen PAL for the European market. JUN 15 Dan just can't get enough of American Idol reject, William Hung. Shooting for Hollywood HD, Dan captured William Hung live at Universal City Walk as he performed "We Are the Champions" and "She Bangs". JUN 10 Dan went downtown to shoot the classic and beautifully restored Orpheum Theatre for Hollywood HD. It was then off to the Writer's Guild of America in Beverly Hills for an interview with Lawrence Kasdan, screenwriter of movies including Body Heat, The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. JUN 7 It was the best (worst) of American Idol! William Hung, Hong Kong sensation who never made it past the first round, was the star for both a commercial and music video for the Game Show Network. Dan was on set for this HD shoot as Digital Imaging Technician (DIT). JUN 4 Dan spent the day in Culver City, CA with one of the world's few Class 1 fire departments. Dan shot footage and interviews for an educational training DVD. MAY 14 Reality TV was on order today as Dan shot a spec pilot to be presented to the E! Network. Dan spent the day following LA publicist, Anthony Turk as he reviewed a photo shoot with Nickelodeon's Lisa Foiles, babysat twin boys for former JAG star Cindy Ambuehl, reviewed event wardrobe for actress and wife of a U.S. Senator, Laurie Coleman, and sat in on an interview for "Soap Opera Weekly" with "The Bold and the Beautiful"'s Sean Kanan. MAY 13 It was a big day for HDNet's "Hollywood HD" as Dan took on the task of capturing Jessica Simpson and Lenny Kravitz live on the "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" show and then cruised down to the red carpet premiere of "Saved!" starring Mandy Moore and co-produced by REM's Michael Stipe. APR 28 Dan swung by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with HD camera in hand to capture the honoring of and panel discussion with the cast from Nip Tuck and The Shield. APR 24 Dan gets back into the swing of things shooting HD at the Vintage Fashion Show in downtown LA sponsored and organized by Minnie Driver, Christina Applegate, and The Salvation Army. MAR 28 - APR 12 Time for a vacation! And what better place to relax than Iran? No, it wasn't for work and I wasn't forced to go. It really was for vacation and I had a great time. After producing two 3-camera concert events, Dan edited the footage and authored to DVD creating all the graphic elements in the process. Soup to nuts, baby! MAR 23 Dan goes political as Mikhail Gorbachev receives honors for his work for the environment at the 8th Annual Green Cross Millenium Awards. Celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Pierce Brosnan and Leonardo DiCaprio were on hand to lend support to the cause. MAR 17 Steve Martin premiered his new play, "The Underpants" and Dan was there on the red carpet, HD camera in hand, capturing the celebrity guest list. MAR 16 BOOM! Dan assisted Sean Fairburn, SOC capturing footage on both HD and 35mm high speed film (for slow motion effect) at Camp Pendleton where the Marines launched and detonated line charges out of amphibious assault vehicles. This for a show titled, "Armor Clad Warriors" which should broadcast on Discovery HD in the Fall. MAR 11 It's non-stop "Hollywood HD" action as Dan finds himself on the red carpet once again for the premiere of "Dawn of the Dead". MAR 9 Dan is officially Hollywood now as he takes his HD camera to the red carpet for the premiere of "Endless Summertime". Dan got up close and personal with stars such as Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, and several others. Even legendary Rodney Dangerfield was on hand for the screening. MAR 6 It was a full day of celebrities in HD as Dan first captured stars such as Heavy D, MC Lyte, Ike Austin, and XZIBIT for GM's "Stars in Cars", and then over to Universal City Walk where Dan got up close with Shaq on his birthday with Ruben Studdard singing "Happy Birthday". Dan even got a piece of the chocolate cake! MAR 3 Buon giornio! Dan shot famous celebrity actors Paul Sorvino and Angelica Huston for "We Are Hollywood", a program produced for Italian television. FEB 26 Dan hit the Las Vegas strip to shoot and engineer an informercial for "Jeunesse by Francois" facial products. FEB 23 HD and Porsche mix with a promo for New Century Mortgage shot at Sonoma, California's Infineon Raceway. Dan shot ground coverage while lipstick cameras in and on the race car and a Wescam helicopter unit up in the air caught all the action. FEB 19 Shooting in HD for HDNet's "Hollywood HD", Dan got on board with members of Star Trek's Voyager crew to celebrate the release of the TV series on DVD. FEB 6 - 8 Shot in a style similar to "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Office", Dan was Director of Photography for a two camera pilot titled, "No Plans for the Weekend". 2003 NOV 29 - DEC 22 Three weeks in Baja, Mexico and five dead surfers later, Dan completed principal shooting as Director of Photography for the horror feature, "El Gringo". NOV 17 David Spade is hosting the Video Game Awards and Dan's job was to shoot the broadcast promo for Spike TV. NOV 6 - 7 Reality hits home as Dan camera operated and tech'd for "Todd TV", a new reality show premiering on FX. The footage, which involved shooting greenscreen as well as straight camera work, will be used in broadcast promos up until the January premiere. NOV 4 Dan got down and dirty shooting professional dirt bikers for Cycle World Magazine. The shoot highlighted hot new 4-stroke releases from the heads of Japanese motor sports: Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki. OCT 9 - OCT 12 Dan served as 1st AC on "Armor Clad Warriors", a high definition shoot with B. Sean Fairburn. Shooting in 24P with the Sony F900, the crew spent 4 days in the desert with Marines from Bravo Company. The camera was mounted on tanks, on a tracking dune buggy, outfitted with probe lenses, night vision enhancement, and the largest portable lens in existence: Fujinon 42x. OCT 7 As camera operator for a multicamera 24P shoot, Dan taped a standup comedy performance by Adriane Kelly, a writer for the Jamie Foxx show. Jamie Foxx was interviewed at the event. SEP 28 As producer and DP, Dan organized and shot a 3-camera 24P violin concerto by famed violin virtuoso, Aaron Rosand. MAY 17 Director Brian Ging and Dan, as DP, wrapped principal photography on 24P feature, "American Yearbook". Panasonic immediately issued a press release. Millimeter and Videography magazines and infoComm followed with articles of their own.
