While pursuing his Masters degree in Motion Pictures, Dan interned at George Lucas' visual effects company, Industrial Light + Magic (ILM). Shortly thereafter, Dan moved to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for cinematography and work with leading professionals in the industry. Recent Events Mar 11 Strapping on his Steadicam, Dan flew through real estate for View the Space. Feb 19 - Mar 7 Dan flew to four states around the country shooting for Travel Channel's 'Extreme Factories' and 'Extreme Yachts'. He also managed to squeeze in some time for live camera work at the International Cinematographers Guild's publicist awards show. Feb 1-2 The Directors Guild of America (DGA) hosted academy award director nominees Ang Lee, Steven Spielberg, Kathryn Bigelow, Ben Affleck, and Tom Hooper for a live Q & A. Dan worked as one of several live Camera Operators for the panel discussion. Jan 30-31 & Feb 4-5 Speed Channel's 'Car Crazy' spent time with esteemed car collector Bruce Meyer at his garage and the Petersen Automotive Museum. Dan worked as Camera Operator for the segment. Jan 21 Survivor Truck is a massive custom built truck designed to survive a wide range of compromising situations. Dan shot and directed a segment for one of Travel Channel's 'Extreme Series' shows featuring the vehicle and its owner/designer. Jan 5-11 Dan was hired as DP for a Spring campaign for American Eagle Outfitters. He also operated camera, Steadicam, and piloted a remote controlled quadcopter. Jan 2-4, 14 As the football season continued into playoffs, Dan kept up with the action as Steadicam and camera operator for 'Total Access' and 'NFL AM', live broadcast shows on NFL Network. 2012 Month of December More NFL action operating camera and Steadicam for 'Total Access', one of NFL Networks' live broadcast shows. Dan also found time to squeeze in Steadicam work on a commercial for Toyota. Month of November The month was filled with continued work on NFL Networks' live broadcast show, 'Total Access' as well as time on 'Gameday Final', operating Steadicam and floor cameras. Dan also worked with new client, View the Space, operating Steadicam to shoot walk-throughs of corporate spaces. Month of October With the football season well under way, Dan continued work with NFL Network's 'Total Access' as Steadicam and camera operator. In between those days, he squeezed in a few shoots at the Director's Guild of America, covering Q & A's with industry leading directors. Month of September Along with a steady gig at NFL Network doing Steadicam and operating for 'Total Access', Dan found time to do Steadicam for an indie movie, shoot a Q & A at the Director's Guild of America (DGA), cover the Emerging Cinematographers Awards for the International Cinematographers Guild, and work on a food show starring Billy Bush. Aug 22 MMA legend Bas Rutten gave a lucky winner private fight lessons for a new show. Dan served as Operator for the shoot. Aug 5-6, 11-12, 16-18, 23, 27-30 Dan worked Steadicam at NFL Studios for their live broadcast show, Total Access. Jul 30 - Aug 4 American Eagle Outfitters produced a big still and video campaign for their upcoming Fall collection. Dan traveled to Portland, OR and worked as DP on the project including piloting his new quadcopter for remote aerial footage. Jul 23 Yoga Journal Magazine produced another training series in San Francisco. Dan worked as DP for the shoot. Jul 21 Dan served as DP for a segment for "The Voice" featuring Leann Rimes. Jul 16-18 An English TV network came to San Francisco to produce an improv comedy show for broadcast starring top comedians including Robin Williams, Dana Gould, and others. Dan operated camera. Jul 11-12, 27-29 Dan operated live broadcast Steadicam at NFL Studios for Total Access. Jul 8-9 Zing Vodka is pushing their product with an elaborate still and video campaign. Dan operated Steadicam for the production. Jun 26-30 Newscasters for NBC News in Los Angeles came together for a run of commercials. Dan operated Steadicam for the spots. Jun 13-15 Yoga Journal Magazine continued their web-based yoga training with a shoot in San Francisco. Dan served as DP for the series. Jun 4-5, 19-22, 29-30 Dan hopped on board as Camera Operator/Steadicam for feature film, "Geography Club". May 31 - Jun 2 The Austin Healey Club of Southern CA holds an annual event in the mountains at Big Bear. Dan traveled there to cover the event with SPEED Channel's "Car Crazy". May 26 Green Works is a division of Clorox promoting naturally derived cleaning products. Reverse Graffiti is one of their marketing campaigns in which their product is used to clean the dirt off walls, leaving artistic 'graffiti' behind. Dan was hired to shoot this campaign in Los Angeles. May 18-20 Del Mar Mud Run is a 5K obstacle course filled with thrills, spills, and lots of mud and water. Think "Wipeout". Dan was brought in to rig cameras on the various obstacles and shoot the action. May 12 "Car Crazy" isn't just about performance and luxury cars. This day had Dan covering a low rider show that has been running for 50 years. Apr 26 - May 5 "Car Crazy" is shot all over the world. This episode took Dan to Brazil to cover a monster exotic/performance car show as well as visits to various tuner shops and personal collections that give the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles a run for their money. Apr 20-21 A Shelby Cobra reunion/car show was held at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA. Dan covered the event for "Car Crazy". Apr 3-7 Jongkoping, Sweden is host to one of the largest performance car conventions in Europe. Dan traveled there to shoot for SPEED Channel's "Car Crazy". Mar 13-17 Hennessey Performance is a high end performance upgrade facility for cars outside of Houston, TX. Dan flew there for "Car Crazy" to cover footage of the shop, their track, the Venom GT - one of the fastest street cars in the world, and their ultra popular Dyno Day. Mar 12 "Design on a Dime" keeps cookin'. Dan popped in to operate camera for the day. Mar 10-11 The Dish Network produced a commercial for the Latino market. Dan served as DIT/Data Manager for this multi-camera shoot. Mar 6-7 Dan worked as Camera Operator for HGTV's, "Design on a Dime". Mar 4 UBM Channel held an annual event at the Hyatt Century Plaza in Los Angeles called, "XChange Solution Provider". Dan provided DP and Operator services. Mar 1 & 3 The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles celebrated "Deuce Week", the 80th anniversary of the 1932 Ford. Dan worked as Camera Operator for "Car Crazy" in covering this event. Feb 24 Time once again for the annual ICG Publicist Awards. Dan operated live camera for this awards show. Feb 22 'Scenic Route' is a feature film starring Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler. Dan traveled to Death Valley to operate a day of Steadicam for production. Feb 14 Valentine's Day at Pete Sampras' house! Dan worked Steadicam for 'Hollywood for Sale'. Feb 8-11 'Car Crazy' traveled to Northern California to shoot a segment featuring Canepa Designs. Dan worked as Camera Operator. Jan 27 Dan worked as Steadicam operator on a specialty Nike spot celebrating football. Jan 24 The Mullin Automotive Museum is primarily dedicated to historic French cars. Dan worked as Camera Operator on 'Car Crazy', covering this amazing showcase of rare automobiles. Jan 23 HGTV's 'Design on a Dime' starts a new season. Dan filled in for the day as Camera Operator.
